Explore the land that makes up Mahu Whenua, and learn about the rich history of the property, from the Maori pathways to the gold mining era, the farming heritage to the impressive ongoing conservation efforts undertaken by the current owner, your guide will take you by 4WD vehicle into the Motatapu Valley and introduce you to the stories and characters that have defined the land.
Our guides are storytellers, with a wealth of knowledge and back country experience to really showcase the property. If you have a particular interest in any aspect of the history of the land, the trip can be tailored to offer a personal experience - take a gold pan to the rivers, head to the woolshed for a closer look at the sheep shearing process, or even get your hands dirty and contribute to the conservation efforts with some native tree planting on the property.
