Our secluded Wanaka homestead lodge and cottages offer the perfect escape for extended families or large groups. Accommodating groups of up to ten guests, Mahu Whenua ensures privacy and ample space for you and your companions to fully enjoy this extraordinary destination.

The main homestead lodge and cottages offer five guest suites boast captivating views of Wanaka with individual touches such as an in-room copper bathtub, a walk-in double-headed shower with lake views and a clever family option which includes an adjoining bunk room. Each room has been designed for each guest to find what they seek – total luxury, the comforts of home and a secluded world away from the ordinary.

Please note that the Mahu Whenua Homestead can only be booked in its entirety, and the suites cannot be individually booked.

Tui Suite

A romantic suite, which enjoys the best views in the Homestead. Soak in the scenery from the grand, in-room copper bathtub, perfectly positioned by the picture window. The en suite bathroom boasts a spacious walk-in shower with lake views and a double vanity. This suite is perfect for a maximum of 2 guests.

Komako Suite

Located on the lower level, the Komako Suite boasts captivating mountain views with glimpses of the lake from your private outdoor deck. Relax in a King-size bed and unwind in the lounge area. The en suite bathroom offers a luxurious bath and a separate shower. An adjoining bunk room (suitable for children under 16) makes this suite ideal for small families.

Kereru Suite

The bright and airy Kereru Suite is perched on the upper level of the Homestead. Step out onto your private veranda to soak up the breathtaking views of the Motatapu Valley and Lake Wanaka. The en suite bathroom features a twin vanity and a shower-over-bath combination.

Cottage Suites

Ideal for couples seeking privacy, the two Cottage Suites are nestled amidst the native beech forest, just 25 metres from the Homestead. Each suite features a King-size bed and a private veranda with captivating views of the stables and Motatapu Valley. The en suite bathroom boasts a shower-over-bath combination and convenient laundry facilities.

“We both had a lovely relaxing time at Mahu Whenua and we were well looked after by staff member Sarah. The food, canapés, followed by a three-course meal was beautifully presented and so delicious, compliments to the Chef.

We walked and biked and enjoyed the spectacular scenery. The lodge was very comfortable with its magnificent living room and cosy couches to sit in while having a wine and viewing the snow-capped mountains.”
