For those wanting to learn more about the history of the area and the conservation work that has taken place here, a guided 4WD tour or (conditions permitting) a horse riding trip are the perfect way to explore the 136,000 acres that make up the property. If you are visiting the region to ski, 30 minutes’ drive to the West will find you at the base building of the South Island’s largest ski area, Treble Cone, whilst nearby Cardrona’s base building is just 60 minutes’ drive away in Wanaka. This winter, for the dedicated snow worshipers, the on-site helipad gives convenient access to some of the best heli-skiing terrain in the country, which adjoins the property.
